H.G. Nguyen, Community Relations Director

H.G. brings with her a diverse array of experiences working with the community in San José. She worked with the San José Redevelopment Agency to beautify the East Santa Clara Street corridor, which now houses San José City Hall. She has also served as a Senior Consultant for California State Assembly District 23. Her responsibilities included bringing vital services and programs to the community. H.G. has also worked in the nonprofit sector as the Chief Administrative Officer of the San José Development Corporation, where she developed a corporate training program, supervised business trainers, and advised prospective entrepreneurs.

In addition, she co-founded the Vietnamese-American Chamber of Commerce of Santa Clara Valley, and she has co-hosted and produced a popular radio program, “San José Có Gì Lạ” (“What’s Happening in San José?) since 1997, catering to the Vietnamese-American community in the South Bay. In 1997, H.G. was named “Santa Clara Valley Businesswoman of the Year” by Mayor Susan Hammer.
