San José District 7 Newsletter

Dear Neighbors,
In January, we had our swearing in ceremonies at City Hall, and at the Franklin McKinley School District. Many of you joined us, and I am deeply honored and touched.  Over the course of the past year, I heard from many of you regarding various issues ranging from concerns about homelessness, the housing crisis to illegal dumping.

My team (http://www.sjdistrict7.com/staff.html) and I have been busy ramping up the office and addressing the concerns raised by the community.  Over the course of the last two months I have been able to advocate for our community from the dais, and have made it clear that quality of life issues are the number one priority for the people of District 7.

I am glad to report that I have been able to raise the attention of my colleagues and we are now in the process of reviewing disproportionate number of cannabis dispensaries that operate in District 7.  I am also happy to report that two of my priority proposals dealing with quality of life issues such as illegal dumping and the towing of abandoned RV's have been green lighted and staff is moving forward and working those items.

My office is here to serve the people of District 7. Should you need anything, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Sincerely,

Maya Esparza
